Getting Started

Welcome to Artemis! This section helps you get set up and familiar with the platform.

First Steps

  1. Log in to your university's Artemis instance using your institutional credentials.
  2. Enroll in a course by navigating to the course list and clicking the Course Enrollment button. Some courses may have prerequisites you need to meet before enrolling.
  3. Explore the course sidebar. Once inside a course, use the left sidebar to navigate to exercises, lectures, exams, communication channels, and more. The available items depend on your course's configuration.
  4. Start working. Open an exercise from the sidebar, read the problem statement, and submit your solution before the due date.
ℹ️

You can collapse the course sidebar with Ctrl+M and quickly switch between courses using the course icon at the top of the sidebar.

Key Concepts

  • Exercises have a release date, a due date, and an assessment due date. Points are awarded based on your submissions and may count toward your final course score.
  • Feedback is provided after the assessment due date, either automatically (e.g., for programming and quiz exercises) or manually by tutors.
  • Competencies are learning objectives that tie together lectures and exercises. Your progress and mastery are tracked automatically.
  • Communication channels let you ask questions, discuss with peers, and receive announcements directly within each course.
