Exports
Overview
Artemis offers several options to export your user data. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access all personal data stored about you. Artemis provides a comprehensive data export feature that allows you to download all your data.
Export user data (GDPR Data Export)
You can request a complete export of all data Artemis stores about you. This export is provided in accordance with Article 15 of the GDPR (Right of Access).
How to request a data export
- Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
- Select
(Privacy Statement) - Click on
(Request Data Export) - Once the export has been created, you will receive an email with a download link
The export process may take a few minutes depending on the amount of data. The download link will be valid for a limited time.
Data included in the export
The data export contains a ZIP file with the following categories of data:
General User Information (general_user_information.csv)
- Your login name
- Full name
- Email address
- Registration number (if applicable)
Exercise Participations and Submissions
For each course you participated in, the export includes:
- Programming exercises: Your code repositories
- Modeling exercises: Your diagrams as PDF files
- Text exercises: Your submitted text
- Quiz exercises: Your answers and results
- File upload exercises: Your uploaded files
- Results and feedback: Grades and feedback received on each exercise
Exam Participations
- Exam submissions and results (if the results publication date has passed)
- Feedback received on exam exercises
Communication Data (messages_posts_reactions.csv)
For each course:
- Messages and posts you authored
- Thread replies (answer posts) you created
- Reactions you added to posts and answers
Saved Posts (saved_posts.csv)
- Posts and answers you bookmarked/saved for later
- Status of each saved post (in progress, completed, archived)
Notification Settings (notification_settings.csv)
- Your global notification preferences
Conversation Participations (conversation_participations.csv)
- All conversations you are a member of (channels, group chats, direct messages)
- Your role in each conversation (moderator status)
- Conversation preferences (muted, hidden, favorited)
Tutorial Group Registrations (tutorial_group_registrations.csv)
If tutorial groups are enabled:
- Tutorial groups you are enrolled in
- Course associations
- Registration type (instructor-registered or self-enrolled)
AI Tutor Interactions (iris_chat_sessions.json)
If Iris (AI tutor) is enabled:
- All chat sessions with the AI tutor
- Messages exchanged (both your questions and AI responses)
- Timestamps and feedback provided
Learner Profiles (learner_profiles.csv)
If learning analytics is enabled:
- Your learning preferences per course
- Goal orientation settings
- Time investment preferences
- Repetition intensity settings
Competency Progress (competency_progress.csv)
If competency-based learning is enabled:
- Your progress on each competency
- Confidence levels
- Last modification timestamps
Science Events (science_events.csv)
If science/analytics tracking is enabled:
- Learning events (opening lectures, exercises, etc.)
- Timestamps of activities
Plagiarism Cases
If you were involved in plagiarism cases:
- Case details and verdicts
- Associated evidence
Additional Information
The export also includes a README.md file with information about:
- Purposes of data processing
- Categories of personal data
- Recipients of your data
- Data storage period
- Your rights under GDPR
- Source of personal data
- Information about automatic decision-making
